Casual Environs and Different Perceptions

Spending time in casual environs can be eye opening for multiple reasons.  When you work around the same people every day it’s easy to take for granted the personal side of colleagues.  Yes, people have lives and share the same desires for a continuum of life that extends beyond the 5 by 925.
Listening to conversations that strangely parallel those emanating from my personal side, the workday melts away and evaporates before hitting the ground.  There are few opportunities that yield better returns than spending time away from the job with people you see everyday in the stark white of interior lighting.
Funny how people turn real when the obligations of deadline driven tasks no longer loom large on the horizon.  Those who come out to play show the ability to pivot from professional to personal without effort.
I enjoy the free and easy that comes from letting my hair down; even though I can only perform such action figuratively.  Someday I hope to enjoy the opportunity to literally allow the long luxurious locks to fall across slight shoulders partially obscuring the tanned flesh of a supple neck.  Ah dreams are so much fun!
Learn something about yourself and about others by sidling up to the bar and clinking glasses of your favorite beverage; toasting the freedom to partake without constraint of rules, regulations or financial limitation.
You deserve to enjoy and make new connections that extend beyond the walls of your paycheck.  Your outlook will improve and those around you will see you in a different light; one that softens your and their perception.
Have a wonderful Thursday.

Love and hugs, Nikki DiCaro
