It doesn’t take much to excite me these days; the
opportunity to express who I am can easily make my day.
Catching any department store commercial that flaunts women’s
clothing, particularly shoes and skirts is enough to get me moving to the
nearest outlet! Have you shopped in drab
and felt conspicuous as you perused the endless racks of clothing? How did you feel, excited, a bit out of
place? Did energy course through you as
you touched the clothing and imagined yourself wearing them? Have you taken the
plunge by taking the feminine offerings to the male dressing room and trying
them on? How exciting was that? For me there is something satisfying to being
able to finish what I started.
Purchasing feminine clothing without trying them on is like taking a
shower wearing a raincoat.
Have you experienced the rush of shopping en femme? If not, grab a girlfriend (no not like that!)
and go shopping together. There is power
in numbers and there is a sense of strength and daring when you have a
girlfriend to share the experience. You know you can do it. Take it from this girl, the first time was filled
with frayed nerve endings, trepidation, anxiety but once I was in the store I
felt the ice break. I have more desire to shop – my bank account is groaning… I
love the social experience of asking my shopping posse their thoughts on color,
style, etc. and I love giving my feedback to them as we gather around a rack of
clothing that has captured our imagination.
It is definitely an experience to behold. And all of that is topped by
the experience of wearing your newest treasures!
Okay, enough about spending money and filling closets to
overflowing. Let’s talk about you. I
know we are on the cusp of Monday work but I refuse to allow the steel drab attire to deter my thoughts of the next weekend. Regardless of
the time of year my friends, I must tell you that you are flowers vibrant and
colorful, a carpet of beauty stretching as far as the eye can see. The
fragrance of your beauty wafts tantalizingly across the palate of our world. That’s right girlfriends each of you is a
wildflower, individual and unique. You
are part of the mosaic of my life adding depth, essence, hues and genuineness
that make me more of a woman, more of a complete person.
Thank you for being all that you are and inviting me to
share your life. The door is always
open, the welcome mat out and freshly swept.
Come make yourself comfortable in my life and let’s continue to walk the
walk and pave the way not only for ourselves but also for others who are now
where we were as we wrote the first paragraph of the first chapter of our
femininity.
Love and hugs, Nikki DiCaro
