We’ve got the beginning of spring knocking at the door.  Let’s take this seriously – a departure from my suggestion not to take life seriously all the time.  The funny side of serious is always there – always waiting for us to strip off the impenetrable layer. Don't look through the lens that can’t see the funny side of life.
I know, not every serious moment has a humorous strand.  But most do.  And at some point focusing on the humor (the lighter, less weighty, side) will defuse the potential for anxiety and emotional upheaval and worst of all – tension.
We’re back to talking about tension breakers such as smiles, or looking away (breaking a staring contest).  Nothing like allowing the other side to think they have an advantage that is non-existent.  Perceptions for some people is reality. You’ve got to have self-confidence to be able to “walk away” to not allow something to “get under your skin”.  It’s an acquired skill that requires practice.  And you’ve got to decide to begin.  Today would be a good day to initiate.
Mondays are great days for new beginnings, or restarts or continuations of inaugural improvements.  “Why?” You ask?  Mondays create runways for the week.  You build momentum and by the end of the week, and hopefully sooner, you’ve achieved lift off and you are airborne.  Being skyward for the weekend let’s you leave your cares behind, if only for a couple of days.  That’s the meaning of escape.  When you return to the scene you are ready for the challenges.  And each challenge overcome, each demon defeated, each summit transcended means you have more satisfaction to fuel your self-worth.
Enjoy Monday and every other day will be a pleasure.

Love and hugs, Nikki Nicole DeCaro
