Products and byproducts, we see both, right?  Differences exist as do nuances.  We can be fooled sometimes by the derivative rather than the genuine article.  Admit it, we settle for a small portion of something, a variant, rather than the entirety.
In a hurry?  Sure I’ll take whatever you have.  You don’t bother checking the ingredients.  Do you know what you are buying?  Purchasing isn’t relegated to exclusively to spending greenbacks.  You purchase with your time, your attention, your feelings, your heart or your mind.
Convince yourself it doesn’t matter or that investing time in the research component of your purchase decision yields scant return.  Can you admit you are a member of that club?
I know, some things are easier ignored, deflected, diverted or repulsed.  I don’t have time.  Yep, used that too many times. “What do you mean you don’t have the time? Do you understand the implications of that decision?”
What decision?
“The decision to ignore.”
I didn’t decide anything, what are you talking about?
“Oh come on, you’re not going to try to convince me that you don't realize failing to make a decision is a decision, are you?”
You’ve now evidenced the internal conflict I sometimes experience.  Raging conflict it may not qualify to be, yet conflict it is.
“Slow down girlfriend.”  Words of wisdom I sometimes heed.  Right, I said ‘sometimes’.  In other words, ready, fire, aim, or fire, aim, ready.  Both are problematic.  Should life ever move rapidly enough to disable discernment?
Yeah I hear you saying, ‘I’m perfectly capable of making split second decisions’.  There is a flaw in that logic.  Perfection exists only in retouched photographs.  You and I may be capable but we’re not ‘perfectly capable’.
“Perfection is in the mind of the beholder.”
I understand.  And being a legend in my mind is about as real as a convenience store in the middle of the desert.
Take heart sweet ones. There is Hope.  You know her. She was one of the subjects of yesterday’s missive.
Pursue the real thing.  Try to refrain from settling.  You will only be satisfied temporarily.  You deserve nothing but the best.  You can admit it.  You can say it out loud.  Let me hear you. Now it’s up to you to believe it.  Once you believe, you will achieve.
The ball is in your court.  What will you do with it?
Enjoy Thursday and strive for more; achievement is closer than you think.

Love and hugs, Nikki DeCaro
