Wednesday is upon us with it’s warmth and dearth of frozen precipitation that this time last week was a menacing threat.  What a difference a week makes.  I could break into a song but then you’d probably break the glass and pull the emergency exit handle.  I wouldn’t want to be the cause of injury due to an unplanned evacuation.
With more than the promise of spring now tantalizing us, the reality of wardrobe changeover comes none too soon.  I’ve been waiting to break out the spring colors.  We’re all beautiful butterflies.  We would put the male peacock to shame with our exhibition.
In case you’re wondering, conjuring up prose on a daily basis poses a challenge.  The quality is eclipsed by the quantity.  Your writer struggles with relevant context to hold your attention.  Be kind and forgiving if certain offerings fail to engage your imagination.
Yesterday, Tuesday, was one of those days when people were hung up over things that were better left undisturbed.  Ever have a day like that?  It’s like someone churned up the muck as the bottom of a tropical fish tank to be cantankerous.  The disturbance served no purpose other than to promote a personal agenda.
Yep, it’s easy to become disenchanted with people when they act as if the second (third or fourth in some cases) coming of adolescence is not only acceptable but also marvelous.
How do you react, adjust or respond?  Do you take the parallel path and refuse to engage or do you take it head on in an effort to put the problem to bed once and for all?
There’s no right answer as there is no wrong answer.  Each situation requires evaluation, discernment and then decision.  How you deal speaks volumes about you.
I’m over that problem now.  Let’s move on to lighter topics.  Pick one and focus.  How about the smile that breaks tension in a room; the power of two lips parting and pearly whites flashing is disarming.  How many conversations begin with a smile?  Go ahead I challenge you to unconsciously begin a conversation without a smile.  Sure, you can force yourself to be tight lipped.  That won’t last long.
“I hate it when you’re right Nikkster.”
Hate is such a strong word but I understand the feeling.  It’s okay for your scribe to be correct once in a while.  I’m going to mark my calendar.  I think this is the second time this year and that’s one time more than last year!
Be confident in your ability to engage.  You know it’s innate.  Relax, enjoy and be comfortable.  Positive energy is always there; all you need to do is flip the circuit breaker.  Let your energy radiate; I want to see that light in the morning sky. If we collectively smile simultaneously we might encourage the sun to shine a bit brighter.
Have a bright and sunny day and may the temporary blindness of the people staring at your smile pass quickly!

Love and hugs, Nikki Nicole DeCaro
