Weekends are weekends, until they’re not!  What’s so special about the two days that end the week?  Yes I know, in some cultures one of the days ends the week and the other begins the new seven day cycle.
Is my column blasphemous for the statement about the weekend?  My point is, everyday in life is important.  The weekend is as important as the week beginning.  Things that never start, will never finish (how’s that for gallows logic?). If you can start the week on a good note, the ending will deliver a flourish of emotional value beyond the dreams of avarice.  Maybe that’s exaggerating but I think you get the point.
How was your Saturday and Sunday?  Did you reel from the loss of the hour?  Are you relishing daylight’s tentacles deeper into the age of the day?  This daylight saving time juxtaposition is hyped and I’m not sure why.  I’m not arguing the value – longer evenings help sand the edge off the challenges of the labor portion of the planet’s rotation.  Maybe the fanfare is more about reminding people than in heralding a newness that is only a shifting of the sunset.
Yes, I’m making a federal case out of something that probably belongs in common pleas court.  Let’s not convene a grand jury to decide whether an indictment is going to be issued.  Can you determine I enjoyed the Law and Order marathon?
We’re off to a springlike start to the week; and it’s about time the weather provided a respite from winter’s bitter clutches.  Time to trim the old man’s claws and put him away for a while.  Looking forward to showers and flowers and the like.
Spring brings renewal.  That’s welcome and sustaining for most if not all of us. Hope springs eternal.  That’s a pun, but it’s not if you get my drift.
Take the opportunity to break from the slumber.  Awaken in full color – shed the cocoon, test your wings and take flight.
Monday, Monday, I trust today.  Monday, Monday, don’t go away.  Life is already too short.  No need to remove one seventh of it gratuitously. We’re going to make the most of the most of the twenty-four hours you offer.
Have a wonderful start to your week.

Love and hugs, Nikki Nicole DeCaro
