Learned Behaviors

Today carries significance for at least two religions.  Solemn periods addressing two key teachings, Old Testament and New Testament.  No, I’m not going to begin a religious pedagogical post.  I don’t discuss religion or politics – two sensitive subjects better left to others.
“So why the opening remarks Nikki?”
Rightful observance only.  Now let’s move on.
Posts vary from light to heavy and places between.  Each post purposeful and hopefully inspiring.  But what to write when inspiration seems to have been expressed numerous times?  Concern about overworked topics rises to the surface.
If there are topics of interest you would like to have expounded in these publications, please let me know.  Otherwise your writer will continue to plumb her puddle depth imagination for relevant topics.
Friday is both the end and the beginning.  You could argue that every day carries a beginning and an end.  Endings require beginnings but beginnings don’t require endings.  Therefore, promising beginnings can be nurtured, lengthened, extended; never requiring a declaration that something has ended unless we are prepared to close the book on the journey.
“You utilize the word ‘journey’ in many of your writings, why?”
Everything we do has the elements of a journey. They don’t have to entail physical movement to be a journey.  Consider flights of fancy undertaken in the mind / imagination.  You move from thought to thought, dwelling and then disbursing.  You choose the path.
“Your point?”
Promise; everything we do holds promise.  Success can be equally as likely as failure in everything we undertake if we bring the appropriate energy and frame of mind to bear on the situation.
“You are experiencing a flight of fancy my dear!”
Maybe, but who is to say I’m wrong?  I’m guilty of seeing the negative before recognizing the positive. Positivity (another topic that has gotten significant play in these postings) is your friend if you welcome with open heart and mind.  These are ‘learned’ behaviors.  Do you agree?  Learn from others and learn from your experiences.  Play over in your mind situations and determine if they can teach you anything.  In order for that to happen you need to get past potentially dismissive attitudes. Every situation offers a learning experience (a teachable moment) if you enable your mind to be fertile enough to capture even the smallest kernel of useful information.
Warning: these playbacks can be destructive if we don’t compartmentalize them – disable their ability to bleed over into areas we protect from degradation.
Yesterday Jane wrote a short post about “strength”.  She learned how to garner strength from experiences / encounters with others.  Bonds are created that provide support, energy.  We look forward to these encounters as we look forward to the dawn of a new day.  Every time one of us posts something moving we encourage others to learn a behavior.  It’s not about the length (quantity) it’s about the content (quality).
We post not only to help others but also to help ourselves.  Writing is therapeutic and sharing reveals a caring nature for our audience.
I hope you will share your experiences.  There are many who would profit from your words of wisdom.
Enjoy your weekend and may every day be a wonderfully gratifying opportunity to teach and to learn.

Love and hugs, Nikki DeCaro
