Time for a little levity. Monday
morning and a vacation day looms of the horizon. Enjoying the reverie of the weekend as I lay
in bed cozy and warm; the air conditioner cranked to arctic levels. There are stalactites on the ceiling and
stalagmites forming on the hardwood floor.
A few of the ceiling inhabitants are lengthening and would make a
unicorn proud.
These ice formations seem to be
rainbow colored. I wonder what that
could signify?
I’m trying the type but my fingers
aren’t working. I’m not sure if it's the
long nails that slip off the keys of my designer keyboard or if the layer of
frost from the bedroom walls has infiltrated my trusty scribing device.
With the advent of summer I don’t think Frosty
will be making a guest appearance but if he did, there would be no melting
going on in this bedroom.
As I peer through the icicles
hanging precipitously overhead, I glance through the small circles of mirror
not obscured by the frost and I think I see a red nose. I wasn’t expecting a Rudy awakening but I
guess in my literary world anything is possible.
There was nothing frigid about
Raven 25, and I don’t mean the weather.
Warmth radiated from all corners of friendshipland. Yes, we all need reassurances from time to
time and these bi-monthly events help with nipping and tucking the memories
into our emotional safe. When anticipation
blossoms into reality, and that reality eclipses expectation, the investment’s
yield far exceeds and refills to overflowing our cup of cheer.
Thanks to all who made the trek to
New Hope. I look forward to a few interim gatherings of a more quaint but no
less enjoyable nature. There are many take aways from the weekend; not the least of which is "we don't see each other enough".
Have an awesome week.
Love and hugs, Nikki DeCaro
