Find a Friend; Find Freedom

Rail against the dying of the light.  Don’t let your flame of desire flicker and falter.  Feed it with the desire to free yourself from the imposed outer shell.  When things seem difficult, buck up, gather yourself and continue undaunted down the road to physical and emotional salvation.  I’ve been there; steeped in doubt and almost choked by indecision.  Life can be cruel if you permit it to infiltrate your world.  Find a crossing point, one that puts a little distance between you and the current problem.
As we approach the end of another week we have Raven 25 on the agenda.  There are plenty of us planning to attend.  Breakfasts, lunches and dinners to share; shopping to experience and general out and about time enjoying the freedom and the company of likeminded people.
Let’s think good thoughts, generate positivity to feed the furnace of desire.  There’s a time and a place for everything.  Yes that is biblical and it has the added advantage of being true.  Some things require large rooms, expansive surroundings and significant time commitments.  Other things that demand monopolistic control should be confined to the tiny anteroom of your consciousness.
Just as day follows night, “now” follows “right” and “own” follows “your”, every problem can be an opportunity.  Not necessarily to engage; that could be the ultimate folly.  But to learn and act according to the rules of self-preservation.
Find a friend and talk through a problem or a challenge.  Chances are, another has experienced your situation and may have words of wisdom and will at least offer words of empathy and consolation.  We are here for each other; let’s take advantage of the friendships that we discover and nurture.  I don’t know of any friend in this community who has not embraced me when I had a problem to share.
Be light and frivolous.  Give your heart and mind a break.  Don’t let someone who doesn’t have your best interest in mind mount their hang-up on your shoulders.  You don’t want to muss your hair, right?  Let’s go out and play in the sandbox of life.  Remember your sun block and bejeweled sunglasses.

Love and hugs, Nikki DeCaro
