Meandering through life is an
interesting approach. People watching is
amusing. A fashion show of sorts strolling past in all shapes and sizes. Is it obvious to you that mirrors have become
passé? I marvel at those who must dress
in the dark or have run out of options and mix stripes with plaids that don’t
have the faintest chance of passing for eclectic. The socks and sandals phenomenon tickles me
not. I don’t get it; whether heavy wool
socks with Birkenstock sandals or white or black socks with what we fondly
called shower shoes back when I was a kid.
I’m also amused at the ones who only comb the front of the mane. It becomes easy to identify people who either
don’t shower in the morning or took a hot griddle to the back of their head to
rapidly dry and style in one burning moment.
I’m not complaining, only
musing. I learn fashion style and
fashion faux pas through keen observation.
The danger you may have discovered is shopping therapy resulting from a
“must have” combination I observe. Acquisition
envy threatens to punish unless I comply.
I’m a victim of circumstances beyond my control. I am beginning to believe that Pavlov is alive
and well and I’m responding to the 21st century version of the
training bell. It’s the ring of the cash
register as I hungrily watch as the sales associate folds my newest purchases
into the large bag that will temporarily assuage my addiction.
I wish there was a free garment
storage option or a passive identification tag (I think they were called RFID
tags) that would enable me to catalog my wardrobe, accessories and shoes! I lose track of what I own and scurry about
to find an outfit only to discover I have too many of one color (can a woman
ever have too many of anything?). One
outcome deriving from my new life is the realization that women are born to
shop. We are acquirers of exterior
decorative appliances – fancy schmancy huh!
I think there’s an invention in
there somewhere if I could remember what I was talking about a moment ago. I hate when that happens! Distractions haunt me like yesterday’s heavy
meal, repeating and reminding at the most inopportune times.
I think it’s time to surf one of my
favorite websites. The recently
announced sale and free shipping beckons. What’s a girl to do? I am fulfilling my destiny. Would you be able to resist?
Have a fulfilling day and don’t
worry about what anyone says. I look
forward to checking out your new wardrobe.
I love getting ideas from your creations.
Love and hugs, Nikki DeCaro
