Breaking Points and Vindication

Vindication is a breath of fresh air.  When was the last time you experienced such satisfaction?  You defend your beliefs against all odds (not anonymously). Headwinds buffet you, attempting to force you to tack except the current is running against you and crosswinds make navigation treacherous.  As the last vestiges of strength and intestinal fortitude threaten to abandon you something changes.
Life’s funny like that.  It pushes you to the breaking point sometimes.  It’s up to us to soldier and not surrender.  You’ll learn more about yourself if you persevere, something positive and uplifting.  Yes I know it’s easy to tell others to keep swimming through shark infested shoals as we ride in the motorized pleasure craft.  Unless you were born with a silver spoon in your mouth or protruding from another bodily opening you earned the right to enjoy the benefits of said vessel.
I’ve been in both places at different points of my life.  I refuse to go back.  Let’s move ahead together.  Unfortunately we’ll leave things and people behind as we get on with our lives.  Anchors sometimes protect us from drifting, other times they impede advancement.  There will be twinges of regret plucking at heartstrings; memories pressed between the pages of our mind the anchor that may no longer be a safe harbor.
If the promise of fulfillment beckons, your decision will press against the limits of what you know.  Venturing outside the comfort zone will be fraught with uncertainty.  But the pull of your desire to move on will overwhelm you.  And if you choose to remain anchored, be prepared for the regret of not following your heart.  I’ve concluded it’s not worth the anxiety of yearning to relive forsaken opportunities.
Free will is not free.  There is a price to pay for decision or indecision.  Merge head and heart to coalesce around the roadmap for your future.  I’m certain you’ll draw the conclusions that will keep you on the road to happiness.

Love and hugs, Nikki DeCaro
